17-Dec-14: A request to gentle readers: please comment!

We get a lot of you here every day, but not so many comments.

So this is a request: please do comment. Not just today, but whenever you see something here that's comment-worthy.

It's a bit of a puzzle to us that, with gratifyingly high numbers on both our Twitter stream and here on the blog, so few readers actually express themselves. Are we offending you? We assume not, otherwise you would leave. Are we saying what you think? Maybe, but that can't be true all the time. You think it's a waste of your time? Maybe, but many of the issues we discuss here affect you and your communities, and we surely feel they affect us and our lives which is of course why we blog.

So please go to it, folks. We respect comments. We appreciate comments. We love comments. And we really do want to know what you're thinking. (And if ever you want to comment without having your thoughts appear in public, send them to us at this email address.)

24-Jul-06: Thanks to our readers

It's nice to be able to thank our readers. "This Ongoing War" has been appearing in the top five or six blogs ranked by IsraelForum.com's JBlogCentral for the past few weeks.

To see our child's killer brought to justice and face Federal terrorism charges in a Washington DC court, two things need to happen.

One: The US has to explain to Jordan the imperative of the Hashemite Kingdom complying with its legal obligations under the 1995 Jordan/US Extradition Treaty whose validity Jordan has disingenuously denied since March 2017.

Two: Jordan must arrest Ahlam Tamimi who has lived free in Jordan's capital since 2011 and hand her to US law enforcement officials who will put her on a flight to the US.

THIS ONGOING WAR is not part of the activity of the Malki Foundation which was founded by us, Frimet and Arnold Roth of Jerusalem, on September 11, 2001. But it is inspired by the same tragic circumstances. The Malki Foundation (also known by its Hebrew name: Keren Malki) is a memorial to the life of our daughter, Malki who was murdered at the age of 15 in a massacre in the centre of Jerusalem carried out by Hamas.

Beyond its function as a remembrance of a beautiful life, the foundation provides tangible, concrete, invaluable support daily to several thousand Israeli families from every part of the religious and socio-economic spectrum: Christian, Moslem, Jewish, Druze and others who care at home for a seriously disabled child.
