Just hearing reports now that another rocket, despatched with extreme malice, from the Gaza Strip has exploded in southern Israel tonight, a little after 11:00 pm Israel time. This Hebrew language report says the missile landed in open fields in the Hof Ashkelon region. And that the trajectory, as tracked by Israel's Iron Dome anti-rocket defense system, was computed to pose no danger life or property and so no defensive measures were taken.
From past experience, we can assume that there will be Israeli military efforts in the night-hours ahead to make an indelible impression on Gaza's masters about the undesirability of such irresponsible foolery. We can also assume that the rocket attack will not be reported at all or widely in non-Israeli news channels but that Israeli counter-measures will.
This Arabic tweet, posted around 11:05 pm tonight suggests there is Israeli reconnaissance activity in the skies over Gaza as we post this. And this one, posted around 11:35 pm says the sound of explosions is being heard in Gaza's northern region.
