Radio and television news reports in the past hour (it's now 8.30am) are reporting a high-level terror alert in Jerusalem and surrounding areas. We hear helicopters buzzing northern Jerusalem's skies, police sirens from the highway in the valley below where we live, and reports of roadblocks at the entrances to the city. The main roads that we can see from our windows are all jammed with slow-moving traffic. All of this stems from intelligence reports of a terrorist making his way to where the largest numbers of potential victims can be found. Won't make the news anywhere (unless you know what happens); just part of this ongoing war.
UPDATE: Alert dropped at 9.15 this morning. Still no details.
