19-Jul-06: A glimmer of good news

We reported earlier on suspicions that a Palestinian Arab terrorist had entered Tel-Aviv this morning on a murder mission. This was the trigger for massive police sweeps throughout the metropolitan area, including road blocks and helicopter searches.

It's our pleasure to report he is now in the safe custody of the Israeli authorities. The would-be suicide-and-bombing-murderer was chased to, and trapped on, a building site in the Tel-Aviv suburb of Hod Hasharon. The general security alert was immediately lowered. Following the capture, it's believed the man's 72 dark-eyed virgins will be given rain cheques.

Meanwhile, there's unfortunately a constant stream of much less pleasant news from the various war fronts in the north, south and center of this beleagured country.
