24-Jul-17: Stabbing for Al-Aqsa again

Al Aqsa" happened [Image Source]
There has been an Arab-on-Israeli stabbing attack today (Monday) in Petach Tikvah.

According to Ynet, the Arab attacker stabbed his victim, an Israeli Arab of 32 who is a driver for Egged, the national bus co-operative, at a spot close to a shawarma (grilled lamb meat) stand near the busy Petach Tikva Central Bus Station, injuring him moderately-to-severely.

According to Times of Israel
The assailant then tried to escape on foot, but was wrestled to the ground by civilian bystanders and handed over to police. Some reports said a driver who was passing by helped stop the attacker by ramming him with his car as he tried to escape. Others said a local pizzeria worker helped subdue him by hitting him with a wooden pizza tray. The assailant, a 21-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank town of Qalqilya, was arrested and taken for questioning by police. Police spokesman Luba Samri said Monday’s attack was nationalist in nature. She said the attacker was a Palestinian working illegally in Israel.
Ynet says the victim was rushed to Beilinson Hospital in nearby Rabin Medical Center with injuries to upper body including stabbing injuries to the neck. This, it has to be noted, is where Palestinian Arab stabbers are taught to aim when carrying out Arab-on-Israeli terror attacks.

In Ynet's telling, the stabber told police he "did it for Al-Aqsa." He has a criminal/terror record, having been imprisoned in 2015 – 2016 for "a nationalistically motivated attack" on Israelis.

We're witnessing a great deal of evil being done "for Al-Aqsa" at the moment.

09-Feb-17: Islamists claim credit for today's Arab-on-Israeli rockets, shootings, stabbings:

Eilat by night [Image Source]

Two very different Arab-on-Israeli terrorist attacks today are major talking points within Israel - and almost entirely unreported and unanalyzed beyond our borders.

Around 11 o'clock Wednesday night, a barrage of missiles were fired at nearby Eilat from a site in the Sinai desert. The Jerusalem Post, quoting the IDF's Southern Command, reported that four rockets were fired, three of them being safely intercepted in mid-air by its Iron Dome defense system. (Click for a video of one such intercept.) Several people were treated for shock in Eilat's Yoseftal Medical Center hospital.

Haaretz reported during Thursday afternoon that ISIS is claiming to be behind the attack:
The Islamic State group's affiliate in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula has claimed responsibility for the barrage of rockets fired at the southern city of Eilat Wednesday night. The ISIS-aligned Amaq news agency announced that the affiliate, which calls itself the Sinai Province, fired several Grad rockets toward the Red Sea resort city. The report stated that the war against "the infidels" will continue and that the war against ISIS will not help the unbelievers. It added that future attacks would be much more severe.
Then this evening (Thursday), between five and eight people (accounts vary) were injured in a shooting/stabbing attack on Baron Hirsch Street, Petah Tikva near the city's outdoor market during it busiest hours of the week. The attacker, armed with what Ynet calls a makeshift rifle, opened fire on unsuspecting civilians standing at a bus stop and walking around the market. His weapon jammed as he got to a sewing-machine shop and at that point he began attacking people with a screwdriver. Someone threw (yes) a sewing machine at him, causing him to fall to the ground. Eye witnesses say he screamed "help, help" and was then helped by being arrested.

He turns out to be a 19-year-old male from a village near Nablus. (Ma'an News Agency names it as Beita.) Tonight he is under arrest and in an Israeli hospital where his injuries are being treated. Several of the people he attacked were rushed to nearby Rabin Medical Center at the Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. No one's life is in danger, fortunately.

He was still in possession of the gun used in the attack when arrested, according to a police spokesperson quoted by Times of Israel.

The Islamist terror regime in Gaza, Hamas, praised the attack as a “natural result” of Israeli crimes, according to a Times of Israel report but stopped short of claiming credit - though, in traditional manner, it urged other Palestinian Arabs to follow the attacker's example.

09-Mar-16: News reporting and how it ensures more terror

Terror victim Yonatan Azarihab: Used the attacker's
knife in an unexpected way
Four Arab-on-Israeli stabbing/shooting attacks yesterday, and the Palestinian Arab world is rejoicing in reports of its newest "martyrs".

Ma'an News Agency, true to form, makes its focus clear in the structure of the main headline in its English-language edition: "3 Palestinians shot dead after multiple attacks kill tourist, wound 12". Here's what those few words convey:
  • Three more Palestinian Arabs are dead, shot by someone. Heaven only knows why.
  • This happened after "multiple attacks". There are no actual attackers.
  • The victims of the attacks are three Palestinians, a tourist and 12 wounded
In the Petach Tikva stabbing attack [see our post here], Ma'an says the Palestinian is a seventeen year old, Abd Al-Rahman Radad, from a village called al-Zawiya. The Arabic version of the same report calls him 18 and "the victim". With the non-stop incitement and glorification of murderers being done by Hamas and the PA [see "08-Mar-16: The lethal anguish of "moderate" Abbas"], this Arab teen was indeed a victim - of the sickening kleptocrats who have gotten wealthy on the backs of ordinary Palestinian Arabs and by holding tenaciously to power as their society sinks further back into the Dark Ages.

Neither of Ma'an's two reports on the Petach Tikva terror manages to reveal that the stabbing teen's life ended at the hands of his visibly-Jewish victim, a burly Israeli of 40 (one source idiotically calls him "an elderly orthodox Jewish man") by the name of Yonatan Azarihab and a father of 5. Mr Azarihab overcame the several knife-slashings in his upper body and, somehow grabbing hold of the knife that had been plunged into his neck, pulled it out and thrust it into the body of the Arab, terminating his terrorism career prematurely.

Taylor Force, murdered on Jaffa's seashore promenade
yesterday
In Tuesday's knifing rampage in southern Tel-Aviv ["08-Mar-16: Yet another Arab-on-Israeli terror attack today - stabbing in Jaffa"], we now know a little about the man who was murdered at a spot about 1.5 kilometers away from where the visiting US Vice-President was meeting at that moment with a retired Israeli public figure. Taylor Allen Force, 29, was a West Point graduate who served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a field artillery officer with the US Army between May 2009 and August 2014, and was until yesterday a student at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. His wife who was with him when they were attacked is in hospital with very serious injuries inflicted by the same terrorist.

Ma'an says the attacker is a 22-year-old from a village, al-Zawiya, near Qalqiliya. It gives his name as Bashar Masalha. What does Ma'an tell its readers about the man who was murdered by the villager? Not his name, not his age, not his background or anything about his life; just that he was "an American tourist". Nor do they mention how an Israeli musician, sitting near the beach and strumming on his guitar, gave the fleeing knife-man a massive whack on the head, destroying his musical instrument but slowing the murderer down so that the armed security people in pursuit could catch up with him and eventually stop him,

Not surprisingly, the Arabic version of the Ma'an report, the one which the editors assume will not be read by people outside the Arab world, honors the knife-man in a sub-heading as "shaheed", or "martyr". Mr Force is not mentioned at all. Hamas, whether because it's true or because they wish it were, issued a Tweet [here] saying the killer came from its ranks. The American man he murdered is dismissed as "a Zionist".

In the machine-gun assault on a pair of Israeli police on busy Salah al-Din Street in Israel's capital yesterday ["08-Mar-16: In Jerusalem, a shooting attack"], Ma'an identifies the now-dead shooter as Fouad Abu Rajab al-Tamimi, 21. (Tamimi clan members are mentioned frequently in this blog.) In the Ma'an Arabic version, his death came "during a gun battle with Israeli forces".

It's called lethal reporting when writers and editors for news organizations engage in turning terrorists into heroes and figures to be emulated. It's a form of journalism in which further deaths and suffering are assured.

08-Mar-16: In Petach Tikva late this afternoon, the Arab stabber is killed; his Israeli victim is hospitalized

It's a delightful spring Tuesday here in Jerusalem. But there is Arab-on-Israeli violence in the air yet again.

Late this afternoon on Baron Hirsch Street in Petach Tikvah, an Arab terrorist male launched a knifing attack on a Jewish male, evidently a Haredi man aged around 35-40. According to an Israel National News report, the Jewish man fought back, wrestled the knife from the attacker's hand and stabbed him to death. The stabbing victim was rushed to nearby Beilinson Medical Center in moderate condition with multiple stabbing wounds to the upper body.

The attacker is reported to be an Arab in his 20s, Times of Israel says he "is apparently a Palestinian from the West Bank". But at this stage, details are in short supply.

07-Oct-15: Despatches from the fronts

Shuafat, North Jerusalem, Monday October 5: Border Guard

It's early Wednesday evening in Jerusalem and the extreme violence is continuing.
  • This morning, an Israeli man in his mid-thirties was attacked by a knife-wielding Palestinian Arab female aged about 18-20. This attack, like the murderous assault on a small group of Israeli pedestrians this past Saturday night ["03-Oct-15: Arab violence escalates in Jerusalem: Multiple stabbings in Old City tonight"] was carried out adjacent to Lion's Gate in Jerusalem's Old City. Today's victim suffered stab wounds in his upper body and back - he was stabbed from behind. The attacker's name is given [here] as Shorouq Dwayyat. Like her victim, she is being treated at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital where she is said to be in critical condition after her victim managed to get off some accurate shots in her direction. The attacker's family are in the news as well, as Times of Israel reports: "The family of the terrorist said that officers stationed outside her hospital room would not allow them to visit the woman, Channel 2 reported. One of the family members was detained by police for questioning. Dwayyat’s mother told the TV station in a later interview that her daughter stabbed the man in self-defense after he attempted to pull off her head covering. It later transpired, however, that Dwayyat had written a Facebook post saying she was “going to become a shahid” - a “martyr.” Lovely people.
  • Seven vehicles (at least) were damaged by rocks hurled by Palestinian Arabs this morning on the Jerusalem to Tekoa road near the volatile Arab neighbourhood Beit Sahour. One vehicle, driven by a young Israeli woman, Rivi Ohayon, a resident of Tekoa, came to a stop because of the hail of rocks and was quickly surrounded by a mob that forced the door of the car open. The driver was kicked multiple times and the car’s front windshield was smashed. She was treated by Magen David Adom paramedics and then sent to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with light injuries. Times of Israel quotes Josh Hasten, a journalist for the Jerusalem Post, and a resident of Elazar, a nearby community, who said that earlier this morning he had been attacked on the road: “As I slowed down, I saw a mob of 40 to 50 masked Palestinians on the side of the road. They were holding rocks and cinder blocks... As they approached my car, I took out my gun and fired one round in the air. The shot obviously scared them and they ran up the hill away from the road... I have no doubt that I would be dead now if I hadn’t used my gun. They were going to kill me.” There's an audio interview with Josh Hasten here.
  • A Palestinian Arab male stabbed and then stole the weapon of an Israeli soldier in the coastal city of Kiryat Gat. Security personnel pursued the assailant to a nearby building - evidently in order to take up a position inside an accessible apartment, which he sought to enter [video] - where they succeeded in mortally shooting him.
  • Around 6:30 this evening, a similar attack happened in the central city of Petach Tikva where a Palestinian Arab stabbed several people in a shopping mall. There are multiple casualties and few details. One of the victims, an Israeli male of about 25, is reported to be in moderate condition and stable with knife wounds, and being treated at nearby Beilinson Hospital. The attacker was arrested and in the hands of the police.
  • Again, few details at this stage, but it's reported that a 15-year-old Palestinian Arab youth was arrested in Abu Tor, a mixed Jewish/Arab section of Jerusalem, after attempting a knife assault on Israel Police forces around 7:00 pm this evening.
  • Times of Israel reports that two people were injured lightly when a Palestinian Arab driver rammed his vehicle into a checkpoint on Jerusalem's eastern side around 8:30 pm Wednesday night. The vehicle's driver was shot by a Border Guard officer and injured at the A-Zaim checkpoint, between Maale Adumim and Jerusalem, According to police, the vehicle driven by a Palestinian Arab was coming from east of Maale Adumim when the driver rammed it into the checkpoint.
In addition, dozens of rock-hurling attacks and firebombings (Molotov cocktail attacks). It's now almost midnight, and the sounds of police sirens are audible from points across the city.
