12-Sep-12: Wednesday morning mortar fire into southern Israel from Gaza

Two rounds of mortar fire from Gaza around 8 this morning [Hebrew source] in the Eshkol region of southern Israel. The terrorist fire is almost always indiscriminate and the fact that, again, there are no injuries and no significant damage (the explosion was in open fields) says nothing about the terror such attacks sow among civilians. That of course is the whole point - that is what terrorists do. There's no struggle for national liberation or self-determination. There's no righting of wrongs. There's no strategic recovery of lost territory. There's no army in their sights. It's all about terrifying the ordinary members of the society whom they hate. And while it's southern Israel this morning, from the perspective of the terrorists pointing their mortars heavenwards, Qassams, GRADs and longer range missiles, the sky's the limit.
