13-Mar-14: The fire in the south

What do BBC news consumers know about the massive jihadist rocket barrages that have targeted southern Israel's towns, schools, farms and communities these past 24 hours including today?

Mainly this: "Israeli planes bombard Gaza targets".

Meanwhile this morning (Thursday):
"two additional rockets were fired from Gaza but landed in open areas within the strip. Later in the morning, alert sirens sounded in coastal cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon as rockets were fired from the Strip. The Iron Dome system downed one of the rockets over Ashkelon, while two others fell in unpopulated areas." [Times of Israel]

  1. I've notice the odd semantic bias on the BBC before, fortunately they changed the title to "Israeli planes hit Gaza in response to rocket strikes". That's slightly more neutral.

Like many sites that advocate for a moderate, Israel-friendly viewpoint, we unfortunately receive abusive, offensive and racist messages on a routine basis. We want it to be clear that we reserve the right to reject them in our absolute discretion. Racist and Israel-hating sites abound on the web. So not being allowed to play in our sandbox can hardly be called a hardship. Anonymous postings or messages where email address of the poster is hidden from us will generally not be accepted.
