This was actually discovered last week. The IDF evidently wanted time to destroy the tunnel before announcing that it had been found. This may explain the focus that IDF Chief of General Staff Benny Gantz made in an uncommonly significant speech (we're preparing a report on it now) just a few days ago. In it, he said the next war (the likelihood of which is evidently on the order of "utter certainty and just a matter of time") could be sparked by a “tunnel packed with explosives that reaches a kindergarten”.particularly wide and about 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) long, started in Abbasan al-Saghira, a farming village near Khan Yunis, in Gaza, and terminated inside Israel near Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha, in the western Negev. The tunnel, which was discovered over a week ago, terminated near a kindergarten on the kibbutz, among other exit points. Given what today's disclosure says about the security situation and the ongoing war with the terrorists, we will come back to this in the next day. There are more dimensions to it than are immediately visible, and we're too busy to do the subject justice for the next few hours.
