A young Palestinian Arab resident of a West Bank town carried out a stabbing attack on a Haredi man today (Monday) at the corner of Haim Bar-Lev and Hanevi'im streets in Jerusalem, close to the Old City.

The Times of Israel report says the intended victim managed to get away without being injured.

The assailant tried to escape by running away but was caught by police on nearby Salah a-Din Street in East Jerusalem.

The police say the motive for the attack was, as it is usually termed here, for "nationalistic motives".

Like many sites that advocate for a moderate, Israel-friendly viewpoint, we unfortunately receive abusive, offensive and racist messages on a routine basis. We want it to be clear that we reserve the right to reject them in our absolute discretion. Racist and Israel-hating sites abound on the web. So not being allowed to play in our sandbox can hardly be called a hardship. Anonymous postings or messages where email address of the poster is hidden from us will generally not be accepted.
