19-Jun-12: The rocket attacks - where we are now

Israel's Negev Desert area at sunset
It's 8:30 in the evening, and the day has been stressful and trying in the extreme for the residents of southern Israel. They remain under instructions to ensure they are never more than fifteen seconds running-time from a shelter.

Five additional rockets were fired at them from the various competing terror groups of Gaza in the past hour alone.

The running total for the day till now, according to this Hebrew report quoting Israel Police, is 41 (forty-one) rockets fired indiscriminately by the terrorists since midnight with a view to hitting anything and anyone on the Israeli side of the fence. The head of the Israel Police, Commissioner Yohanan Danino, is quoted by Ynet in the past few minutes saying the escalated levels of violence may continue for several more days and that the rocket fire may reach as far as "the larger and more distant cities". The day is far from over.

Like many sites that advocate for a moderate, Israel-friendly viewpoint, we unfortunately receive abusive, offensive and racist messages on a routine basis. We want it to be clear that we reserve the right to reject them in our absolute discretion. Racist and Israel-hating sites abound on the web. So not being allowed to play in our sandbox can hardly be called a hardship. Anonymous postings or messages where email address of the poster is hidden from us will generally not be accepted.
