A Grad rocket fired from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night landed in an open territory in the Be'er Tuvia Regional Council between Ashdod and Gedera. According to Magen David Adom, several people suffered shock.
This is the first terrorist rocket attack from Hamas-controlled Gaza since the Murderers-for-Gilad-Shalit transaction of last week. Incoming-missile sirens were sounded, to the horror of local residents, in Ashdod, Kiryat Malachi, Nes Ziona and Rehovot - all of them southern suburbs of Tel Aviv. Rehovot has not previously heard the sounds of Code Red; it's unlikely to be the last such occurrence. No Iron Dome anti-missile-attack batteries are currently deployed in the region.
UPDATE Thursday afternoon: JPost reports there were in fact three incoming rockets last night, all fired at Israeli civilians around midnight.

Like many sites that advocate for a moderate, Israel-friendly viewpoint, we unfortunately receive abusive, offensive and racist messages on a routine basis. We want it to be clear that we reserve the right to reject them in our absolute discretion. Racist and Israel-hating sites abound on the web. So not being allowed to play in our sandbox can hardly be called a hardship. Anonymous postings or messages where email address of the poster is hidden from us will generally not be accepted.
