Ynet says a Qassam rocket (but
INN says it may have been a more powerful Grad), fired from the northern end of the Gaza Strip, exploded in the southern part of the Israeli city of Ashkelon. The Color Red attack alert was sounded before the explosion, and at this stage there is speculation that it was stopped by an Iron Dome anti-missile missile. There are no reports of injuries or damage.
