14-Sep-06: After the Guns of War Fall Silent - A Reality Check

Israel's war with Hezbollah is currently in ceasefire mode, and life for most Israelis has fallen back into predictable and familiar patterns.

But life remains far from predictable or familiar for those injured by Hizbollah attacks on civilian areas and in the pitched battles in Southern Lebanon.

As of today, Thursday, it's reported that 47 Israelis remain hospitalized at Rambam, Sheba, Nahariya and Ichilov medical centers with war injuries.

Two are in serious condition. 12 are in moderate condition; and 13 are classified as lightly injured. An additional twenty are still being cared for as in-patients in convalescent and rehabilitation centers.

Like many sites that advocate for a moderate, Israel-friendly viewpoint, we unfortunately receive abusive, offensive and racist messages on a routine basis. We want it to be clear that we reserve the right to reject them in our absolute discretion. Racist and Israel-hating sites abound on the web. So not being allowed to play in our sandbox can hardly be called a hardship. Anonymous postings or messages where email address of the poster is hidden from us will generally not be accepted.
