He assumes that all of America is asleep and not paying attention to President Obama and what he is saying. He assumes that most Americans are so gullible, that the Obama administrations' attempts to whitewash Islam go unnoticed. He has not noticed the outrage that is directed towards the Federal government and it’s handling of the panty bomber, the Fort Hood killer, the Time’s Square failed attempt and Khalid Shaikh Mohammed.

We all noticed that President Obama ignored the elephant in the room, jihad, and pretended the issue was the freedom of the press.

And the rest of “the world”? Most gave a shrug of indifference.

The only people that gave a shrug of indifference was the media. They used their freedom of the press to lie and distort the truth. They used their freedom of the press to further the obfuscate the truth rather than expose President Obama’s lies.

Many Americans, like me, go to other news outlets to get the facts. And armed with the facts, we know when we are being lied to. Unlike President Obama and the press, we do not have easy access to a microphone. Our views are not broadcast around the world. But that does not mean we are not paying attention.

We vehemently disagree with almost everything this administration says and does. One journalist even went to far as to say the President Obama’s rhetoric was eroding American support for Israel. What baloney. American’s support for Israel has been steadfast from the day they were born until now. No president from Carter to Obama has made a whit of difference. To suggest linkage between the stance of the Federal government and American support of Israel is mendacity at it’s worse.

Columnists such as Mark Steyn, would do well to remember this. Americans should never be lumped together with the stances their government takes just like Israelis should not be tarred with the stances that the Israeli government take, nor should Europeans be lumped with the stances that their governments take. To do so does us ‘regular’ people a great disservice.

Sarah Phillips, Jewish American living in Lakewood, ColoradoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
