The Malaysian prime minister's official visit to Hamas-controlled Gaza prompted a bitter protest from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who said it undermined his status and that of the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people. Abbas said he was seeking “clarifications” from the Malaysian government. We wrote earlier that we thought the PA's Palestinian prime minister "Salam Fayyad of Ramallah is not the kind to take it personally" when a Malaysian visitor forgets to take note of the 'other' Palestinian government. Turns out the more seriously out-of-joint nose belongs to Palestinian president Abbas.
Reminder: When the status of Arab leaders gets 'undermined' in their own minds, that's the time to worry that trouble is going to break out.

Like many sites that advocate for a moderate, Israel-friendly viewpoint, we unfortunately receive abusive, offensive and racist messages on a routine basis. We want it to be clear that we reserve the right to reject them in our absolute discretion. Racist and Israel-hating sites abound on the web. So not being allowed to play in our sandbox can hardly be called a hardship. Anonymous postings or messages where email address of the poster is hidden from us will generally not be accepted.
